Past Webinar: Leveraging CalAIM in Permanent Supportive Housing
Published On April 1, 2025
Webinar| Tuesday, April 22, 10:00 – 11:00am PT
California’s CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) initiative allows housing providers to use Medi-Cal funding to cover housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness. Because of this, CalAIM could help overcome funding shortfalls and allow operators of permanent supportive housing to expand their services and provide person-centered care to their residents.
In this webinar, we provided an overview of some of the challenges housing providers face in integrating CalAIM funding into their properties, as well as highlight models and partnerships that are successfully leveraging CalAIM to improve outcomes for their residents.
Tessa Nápoles, Postdoctoral Scholar at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation, presented the Terner Center’s current work.
Speakers included:
- Swamini Bajpai, CalAIM Strategy and Operations Consultant
- Kris Kuntz, Program Director of Housing and Homeless Strategy, Anthem Blue Cross California Medicaid
- Frank Lopez, Senior Program Manager, Jamboree Housing Corporation
- Danielle McCluskey, Senior Director of Resident Services, MidPen Housing Corporation
Carolina Reid, Terner Center Faculty Research Advisor, moderated the discussion.
This webinar was made possible through generous support from the California Health Care Foundation.
