Published On June 3, 2021
A new blog post authored by Cali Slepin and Julian Tucker offers an overview of their UC Berkeley Master of City Planning capstone project working with the Housing Land Trust of Sonoma County to highlight their latest development, Jamie Lane, a five-unit, prefabricated development in Cotati, CA. Jamie Lane pilot makes important innovations to the traditional CLT model by using prefabricated housing to expedite the construction process and reduce building costs and by leveraging national partners and government at different levels to share in the cost and challenges of funding the production of affordable housing. The project provides a framework for other CLTs seeking to build affordable homeownership in high-cost and disaster recovery areas. Read the full overview here.
