Terner Center Receives Grant from Packard Foundation

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation announced today that it has awarded $750,000 in grant funding to the Terner Center for Housing Innovation in order to catalyze solutions for the Bay Area's affordable housing crisis.

The David Baker Architects has posted a blog titled "The New Multifamily Modular" unpacking of the specifics of modular building that the firm has discovered over years of experience as a pioneer in the multifamily modular field in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Terner Center work on off-site multifamily construction is used to show the potential benefits of using this bulding method.

Earlier today, Next 10 released of the report titled "Right Type, Right Place" This report,  a joint effort between the Center for Law, Energy, and the Environment (CLEE) at UC Berkeley School of Law and the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at UC Berkeley, was prepared with the support of Next 10 to assess the environmental and economic impacts of housing production scenarios that could help meet the state’s proposed 2030 greenhouse gas reduction target under Senate Bill 32.
