Past Webinar: Addressing Housing’s Critical Role as Infrastructure

Recent White House and congressional infrastructure proposals represent a potentially historic reaffirmation of housing as infrastructure and would commit billions to addressing housing affordability. But increasing funding for our existing housing programs needs to be paired with critical reform of those systems, a rethinking of how we deliver housing assistance directly to families, and changes to the broader regulatory and land use landscape.

The Terner Center hosted a webinar Addressing Housing’s Critical Role as Infrastructure on the opportunities to advance a new approach to federal housing policy in the context of an infrastructure package.

The webinar presents an overview of our federal framework followed by a panel discussion moderated by our Managing Director Ben Metcalf and featuring Ismael Guerrero of Mercy Housing, Buzz Roberts of the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders, and Jacqueline Waggoner of Enterprise Community Partners.

Read our full federal framework here, and a blog post on the recent infrastructure proposals here.
