The second year of California’s 2025-2026 legislative cycle is underway and, even after a productive first year that saw the passage of several high-profile housing bills, lawmakers have shown no indication that 2026 will be any less eventful. This webinar previewed the major themes in housing policy to watch for in the state capitol and governor’s office.

Speakers included:

  • Julie Aguilar, Research Analyst, Terner Center (Presenter)
  • Azeen Khanmalek, Executive Director, Abundant Housing LA
  • Michael Lane, State Policy Director, SPUR
  • Natalie Spievack, Senior Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Housing California
  • David Garcia, Deputy Director of Policy, Terner Center (Moderator)

This webinar was made possible through generous support from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Heising-Simons Foundation, and the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
