Tessa Nápoles is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation focusing on the intersections between housing and homelessness, including projects related to increasing the effectiveness of permanent supportive housing, aligning housing and health funding, and improving how rental assistance is provided to families experiencing homelessness. Tessa’s dissertation explored how people experiencing homelessness navigate and are prioritized for health and housing services, including through housing navigation and coordinated entry. Tessa previously worked as a Project Director and Research Analyst at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) on mixed methods and community-based research projects exploring chronic illness, food and housing insecurity, social networks, and poverty in California. She holds a PhD in Sociology and an MS in Global Health from UCSF, and a BA in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.
